Rome introduces rAgents or resource-backed Agents and Swarms as new primitives in the crypto x AI space. And offers DeFi ready ownership-centric tokenization for rAgents and swarms, creating the foundation of a decentralized AI economy.

ROME Season 1 - 25,000,000 $RIZ in rewards

Along with the launch of ROME, we are excited to bring you ROME Season 1, running from February 17th to March 30th. Upcoming seasons will offer more RIZ, along with extra rewards from featured projects on ROME.During Season 1, users can participate in several key activities to earn rewards:

  • Create rAgents – These are tokenized AI agents representing social mindshare, compute, or data as self-sovereign agents. rAgents can be staked, lent, or integrated into decentralized applications.
  • Create PAGs (Personal Agents) – Early versions of ERC-6551-based personal AI agents. More capabilities for PAGs are scheduled for release in Q2.
  • Swarm Staking – Users can stake rAgents into Swarms to support AI/DePIN projects. Rewards depend on an individual’s participation and the performance of the project.
  • Borrow and Lending Market – Launching Soon.
  • Increase Reputation for Rewards – Users need to have at least 40 reputation score to become eligible for ROME Season 1 $RIZ rewards.

25,000,000 $RIZ tokens are up for grabs in ROME Season 1, amounting to about 0,5% of total supply. This amount represents the absolute number of tokens participants can receive, and it is distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.If the total reward pool of 25 million $RIZ is reached ahead of time, Rivalz may choose to expand the reward pool or end the season at that point. In either scenario, Rivalz will announce any updates as the reward threshold approaches.

Completing on-chain actions in ROME grants users $RIZ, which can be claimed once Season 1 concludes. If you’re already participated in the Rivalz testnet and are eligible for the Rivalz Airdrop, you can also earn bonus rewards when they engage with ROME’s features after TGE.

Requirement for Claiming Rewards
Rewards become claimable at the end of Season 1. Users must reach a reputation score of at least 40 points to qualify for these Season 1 rewards. In addition, eligible Testnet Airdrop participants will get a bonus for joining ROME Season 1 if they reach the required reputation score of 40.

Tokenizing resource-based Agents / rAgents

At the heart of this new agentic economy, users own tokenized rAgents as NFTs or as self-sovereign PAGs (Personal AI Agents) and earn fees through rAgent lending mobilized around AI-driven tasks (lending market launching soon). ROME also unlocks a new dimension where users can join forces and directly contribute to larger AI-driven operations by staking their rAgents into Swarms.

In Rome v2 we will focus on tokenizing swarms. 

The Core rAgents of Rome

There are four primary rAgent types powering the Rome ecosystem, each designed to enhance Swarm functionality:

  1. rX - Connect your X to launch a Social agent. Swarms can utilize social agents to spread their mimetics, create agentic movements or launch collaborations.
  2. rC - Run an rClient to launch a Compute rAgent. This can be used by Swarms for edge computation and low-level compute.
  3. rD - Run an rClient to launch a Data rAgent. This can be used by Swarms to store data and use different Data services.
  4. rE - Run a Linux-based rClient to launch an Execution rAgent. Such rAgents allow Swarms to run nodes, applications, agents and other software autonomously.

rAgents exist as long as the underlying resource is provided—otherwise, they dissolve, impacting the provider’s reputation.

AI Swarms

Swarms are project controlled collectives of rAgents. Over time we will introduce a larger variation of rAgents, including rAgents provided by other AI infrastructure companies and Agents projects. 

Projects can incentives rAgents owners to join their Swarms through staking rewards. This creates a direct human - AI - project relationship, crucial for the AI economy. 

Monetizing Intelligence: AI-Native DeFi (AiFi)

Rome introduces DeFi-powered liquidity for AI, making machine intelligence monetizable, composable, and tradable:

  • rAgent Lending Pools – Users can lend their AI-backed agents and earn passive income.
  • Agent Staking & Rewards – Contribute rAgents to Swarms and earn rewards based on impact. Effectively through Rome you can agentify your resources and make them earn for you automatically. 
  • SwarmFi – TBA.

In Rome v2, all rAgent NFTs will carry up-to date reputation metrics, enabling other builders to create DAPPs on top of the Rome protocol. 

Personal AI Agents (PAGs): Self-Sovereign AI Entities

Rome also introduces PAGs (Personal AI Agents), which take self-sovereign AI to the next level:

  • Own Digital Assets – PAGs can hold NFTs, tokens, and digital assets using ERC-6551.
  • Evolve & Adapt – AI Agents improve over time based on user interactions.
  • Embed Other rAgents – Expand capabilities by integrating compute, data, and execution functions.
